Biography

Steven Horowitz earned his Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Iowa. His dissertation topic was the poetry of Paul Goodman. He has an M.A. in American Studies from Penn State University and a B.A. in Plant Science from University of Delaware. His main areas of study included American Literature and Culture, Jewish American life, and American popular culture. He currently works full-time at GDIT as a Technical Editor on the Medicare program. He developed the rock and roll class while a graduate student and continues to teach it as a Guided Correspondence Course. He also is a staff writer for popmatters.com and the Iowa Source.
