Research in the Department of American Studies spans a broad range of topics. Our faculty study the history of sport and leisure, sport media, physical cultural studies, diversity & sport, American literature & culture, American Indian histories, theatre history, the rhetorical arts, Latinx studies, migration & critical theory, transnational and Central American studies, and feminist, queer, and animal studies. American Studies students benefit from a core faculty who offer dedicated mentoring and research opportunities from a broad range of expertise.
