As part of the Thursday's at the IMU series, the Latino Graduate Student Association (LGSA) will be screening the movie Real Women Have Curves (2002) directed by Patricia Cardoso at the IMU - Iowa Theater (166) on October 1, 2026 between 6pm to 9pm.

"A first-generation Mexican-American girl wants to go away to college but must battle against the views of her parents, who think she should stay at home and provide for the family. As a compromise, she works with her mother in a sewing factory over the summer and learns some important lessons about life, helping her make a decision about her future."

Movie will start promptly at 6:30pm and a guided open discussion of the movie fill follow afterwards.
